Toll House Cookies

2 cup shortening (1/2 butter)
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon water
4 eggs
Beat till creamy.  Add eggs last & beat again.

4 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional) 
2 teaspoons baking soda
nuts and chips

Ungreased - 350 - 10/12 minutes.
