Funnel Cakes Deep Fried

salad oil for frying
1 1/3 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
2/3 cup & 2 tablespoons milk
confectioners sugar - cinnamon or honey

Sift flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda in bowl.  Beat egg and milk together and stir into flour mixture until smooth - a rotary beater can be used.

Heat oil in deep skillet or french fryer until real hot. Pour batter thru funnel swirling is as you pour it into the oil from the center out.  Fry one at a time unti golden brown & drain on paper towel.  Sprinkle w/powered sugar and cinnamon or brush hw/honey.
